Inspired Goodbyes: sympathy cards with a difference

Categories: Community Engagement.

The company was founded by Helen Lawson and Sophia Lucop-Leach, friends who had both experienced very personal bereavements.

The Inspired Goodbyes range attempts to offer customers the chance to send more personal messages to those who have been bereaved than traditional ‘with sympathy’ cards.

Their range of cards aim to offer people the chance to say more about the person who has died.

There are four different types of card currently on offer:

  • ‘I will be there’ cards, which attempt to cover things which are difficult to say but above all emphasise that you will be there for the bereaved person.
  • Sympathy cards for when a child has died, which express grief at the loss of a child in a very simple fashion.
  • Cards for men to send to their mates, which are straightforward, to the point and extremely simple ways of expressing sorrow.
  • Memory sympathy cards, which encourage remembering a happy time and sharing that with family and friends.

In addition to the cards, Inspired Goodbyes also offers bereavement gifts, including a personal goodbye kit, a memory book and a range of jewellery.
