Useful information

Whilst the concept of multidisciplinary working is not new in palliative care, achieving a truly interdisciplinary approach across members of the palliative care team and with partner services represents the pinnacle of best practice.

But what do we mean by Interdisciplinary Palliative Care? What does it look like for your patients, your role and your team? And importantly how can you achieve it to optimise and futureproof your practice?

In this programme you will take a deep dive into interdisciplinary palliative care. You will have the opportunity to interrogate how interdisciplinary your current practice is and to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that this type of working brings.

We will introduce you to the latest research and policy underpinning interdisciplinary and rehabilitative palliative care and bring this to life with real examples from a range of professionals and patients as we explore how to effectively ‘blur boundaries’ and translate this approach into practice.

We know what it’s like to come out of a conference with lots of new ideas only to return to work and find you have no time to take them forward.

What sets our programme apart is that we dedicate a full day to enable you to translate your ideas into practice with the expert coaching support of Rebecca Tiberini, Consultant in Strategic Leadership and Chair of the EAPC Taskforce for Rehabilitation in Palliative Care.

Outline programme

Through this dynamic programme, you’ll gain insights from the latest research, hear real-world stories from various members of a interdisciplinary team, and — most importantly — engage in structured reflection to apply these learnings directly to your workplace. Participants will leave with an actionable plan, ready to implement meaningful changes in their organisations.

Day 1: Thursday 6 February 2025

You can expect a dynamic conference format with key presentations and discussions, providing foundational knowledge and practical examples to set the stage for the days ahead.

Day 2: Friday 7 February 2025

Day 2 offers you and your colleagues the chance to begin developing a comprehensive strategy for your organization or department, focusing on a holistic approach to care with clearly defined, achievable goals and objectives. The workshops will be led by expert coaching support, Rebecca Tiberini, Consultant in Strategic Leadership and Chair of the EAPC Taskforce for Rehabilitation in Palliative Care, with additional support by interdisciplinary team leaders, who will share their expertise, knowledge, and skills to guide you through this process.
