Keepsake Gift Company helps Dove House Hospice to extend support for families

Categories: Fundraising.

Hull’s Dove House Hospice has worked closely with The Lovely Keepsake Company, to develop more innovative and meaningful ways for bereaved families to receive year-round comfort, whilst giving their continued support to the hospice in return.

The Lovely Keepsake Company has been creating Christmas keepsakes for Dove House’s popular ‘Light Up A Light’ ceremony for the last five years, but has recently worked with the hospice fundraising team ahead of their ‘Summer Memories’ service on Saturday 27th June.

In addition, the company has specially designed a range of keepsake products on their website for bereaved families to remember their loved one, with a direct donation from every sale going to the hospice.  The bespoke Dove House keepsakes include a Memory Box, photo frames, hanging decorations and garden memorials.

Though memorial is traditionally associated with Christmas, Dove House extends vital bereavement support for families throughout the year, with the two special services providing the opportunity for the local community to come together in a shared act of remembrance.

Working together, the team has created a rainbow themed range of keepsakes for 2026, including 300 holographic acrylic rainbow hanging decorations with the words ‘You’ll see me in the rainbows’ to give to attendees as part of the Summer Memories service on 27th June.  This follows the theme used for the Light Up A Life keepsakes created by The Lovely Keepsake Company, of bespoke words or a poem written on a white acrylic shape, that in the past has included a dove, star, feather, robin and snowflake.  This year, the bespoke rainbow design for Dove House will also be on a small range of keepsake items available to buy at www.thelovelykeepsakecompany.co.uk.

Helen Davies of The Lovely Keepsake Company presented Evie Carlton, Dove House’s Individual Giving Fundraiser with the 300 rainbows in the hospice’s beautiful gardens where the Summer Memories event will be held.

She said: “It’s never easy for charities to continually find ways to raise funds in an increasingly competitive sector but what I admire about Dove House is their focus on finding innovative ways for families to support the hospice rather than asking for a straightforward donation.  We always enjoy every creative process with the team and are honoured to be able to support a vital local resource once again.”

Evie Carlton, Individual Giving Fundraiser for Dove House said: “These memorial events are hugely valuable for families to maintain a link with such a special place and allow us to create a safe space for bereaved families to commemorate their loved ones in a poignant way, surrounded by people who understand what they are going through. The keepsakes are a valuable way to both remember a loved one and support the hospice. Attendees love the keepsakes and many of our supporters have a collection of them all from previous years.”

You can make a donation to receive a keepsake and attend the Summer Memories service by visiting www.dovehouse.org.uk/summermemories before Sunday 14th June.
