Utilising the iconic Polaroid, her sculpture is strewn with photo frames, which, for a donation to the hospice, she is inscribing with names of much loved and missed friends and family.
Remember Me is one of the 40 giant Elephants which form LOROS Hospice’s Stomp Round Leicester art trail which runs until 21st September. (*See below) Come and visit it in the This + That by LOROS store on High Street, Leicester LE1 5YN.
Anna Shutt said: “Remember Me is a wonderful canvas to inscribe the name of someone special to you. For a small donation, I will add your loved one’s name to my design, where it will be immortalised on this special artwork forever.
“As names are added, the artwork becomes a beautiful commemoration to all the special people we miss.”
Andrew Ward, Events Lead at LOROS said: “Elephants never forget, and neither do we. Everyone at a hospice knows how important happy memories are, providing comfort in recollections after they have gone. We hope Remember Me is a lovely tribute to those we hold dearly.
LOROS has recently announced that due to a funding shortfall it has been forced to make cuts to its services for patients and their families.
Andrew added: “We’d like to thank everyone who has stood by us as a hospice over the last month. We’ve felt your kindness at this most difficult time. We’ve supported our community for over 40 years. With your help, we can keep doing so for many more.”

An Elephant themed art trail is stampeding into Leicester on Monday 14th July, in support of LOROS Hospice.
Stomp Round Leicester is a free, fun, family-friendly art trail which will bring the people of Leicester together on a trail of adventure across their city.
The 10-week trail will comprise 40 giant, beautifully-decorated elephant sculptures plus 82 Baby Elephants designed by local schools and community groups, and a number of mini elephants decorated by celebrities like Greg Davies, Davinia McCall and Stephen Graham.
At the end of the trail, each giant elephant sculpture will be auctioned to raise money for LOROS Hospice. The charity has recently announced cuts to some of its patient services due to severe financial pressures.
Andrew Ward, Events lead at LOROS Hospice said: “Our summer of fundraising starts here! Stomp Round Leicester is a spectacular public art trail with all funds raised coming to LOROS. Download the Stomp Round Leicester app and walk the trail for a fantastic family day out. We need to raise as much as possible to support our work with patients and their families, so do please make us a donation if you can.”
“Another easy way to support LOROS is though our 10k Twilight Walk which takes place on Saturday 26th July in the city. It’s a real feel-good evening with lots of people walking in memory of someone special in their lives. Gather your friends and join us!”
This year the LOROS Twilight Walk, an annual 10k sponsored walk, will wind a route through the Elephant trail, taking in a Richard III inspired Elephant, a LCFC themed one and creation designed by Kasabian singer Serge Pizzorno, amongst others. Walkers are encouraged to register now, before the event sells out, at loros.co.uk/Twilight.
