Salary: Band 4 £23,144 – £26,683 per annum inclusive

St Joseph’s Hospice was founded in 1905 and is one of the UK’s largest hospices. We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-limiting conditions in East and North London. The Facilities Department is looking for highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individual who work well under pressure to carry out planned preventative maintenance and day to day repairs within a Hospice environment based at Mare Street, Hackney.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in helping to ensure that the department runs smoothly and effectively by supporting the day-to-day operational services to meet the statutory, quality and business objectives of the Hospice.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience in an engineering maintenance environment is essential, previous healthcare maintenance/industrial laundry plant experience is preferred
- Applicants must have served an electrical engineering apprenticeship qualified to ONC/BTEC/NVQ3, or Final C&G certificate in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Applicants will have electrical engineering experience in the following areas:
- Ventilation plant and controls, Fire alarm systems, Emergency lighting systems, Domestic appliances, Power systems, Access control systems, An understanding of patient nurse call systems.
Candidates should be willing to accept any Maintenance emergency on-call rota.
