Thames Hospice have produced a new video to promote their retail shops starring Anita Dobson.

The actress and Thames Hospice ambassador became involved with the charity when they invited her to open one of their stores. “I saw the most amazing shop ever” she explains in the video, “the shops are beautifully done, they look like high class boutiques.”

‘Step into our world of retail’ shows the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the shops raise the vital income the hospice needs. The short film features members of staff and volunteers from various stores, including Vintage & Retro, which sells items from the 1920s to the present day and is a popular supplier of costumes for TV shows, and The Home Studio, where goods are upcycled ready to be sold in the charity’s furniture stores.

“We’re really pushing the boundaries with our shops, with the quality of stock and the way we showcase that stock, and each shop is individually styled to fit the location” explains Julie Rowley, Director of Retail.

In 2018 the shops generated £500,000 towards the running costs of the hospice.
