Patient and Family Counsellor

Salary: Band 7 £37,659 – £47,778 (pro rata) per annum inclusive
Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week
Working days: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

St Joseph’s Hospice is one of the UK’s largest and most highly respected Hospices.  We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting disease, including non-malignant diagnosis.  We offer state of the art facilities in which we continue the tradition of high quality patient-centred care – a service which began over 100 years ago.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident counsellor to work in Psychological Therapies Team. To be considered applicants must have a professional qualification in counselling/ psychotherapy and relevant professional registration

You will need to have proven understanding of the psychological and emotional needs of individuals and families, including children, and professional carers facing advanced disease, death and bereavement and be able to work therapeutically to address attendant psychological difficulties.
