Prospect Hospice is celebrating the success of its recent Christmas Tree Collection, which saw hundreds of local residents come together to support end-of-life care across the community.
Taking place between 9 and 11 January, Prospect Hospice staff and volunteers collected an impressive 1,593 Christmas trees from homes across Swindon, raising £32,132.38 for the charity’s vital care and support services.
The tree recycling initiative, in partnership with Just Helping, was made possible thanks to the generosity of local households who booked a collection, alongside the dedication of volunteers and the support of corporate partners who helped the operation run smoothly across the weekend.
Ben Lee, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Prospect Hospice, said: “We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the response from our community. Every tree collected and every donation made will have a real impact, helping us provide comfort, dignity and compassionate care to patients and their families when they need it most. This simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible commitment of our volunteers and the support of local businesses who give their time, vehicles and expertise
Funds raised through the Christmas Tree Collection will help Prospect Hospice continue delivering specialist palliative and end-of-life care, both at the hospice and in patients’ homes, supporting individuals and families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
