Prospect Hospice is launching a Bereavement Café in Royal Wotton Bassett on Thursday 6 March. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Prospect Hospice and Carer Support Wiltshire, aimed at providing comfort and support to people who have lost loved ones.
The Bereavement Café provides a warm and supportive environment where people can meet and share their experiences with others who may be going through similar emotions.
Jaqui Gullis, Clinical Lead for Therapy Services at Prospect Hospice said:
“Through the care we offer in our community, and various conversations we were having with patients and their families, we realised there was a real need for a community-based drop-in service open to those dealing with grief.
Therefore, we were keen to increase bereavement support for our local community, and to offer this to everyone not only for people whose family member was supported by the Hospice.
We launched our first community bereavement café in Marlborough a year ago, and since then, we’ve had lots of feedback asking for more bereavement cafes.
Royal Wootton Bassett was a natural choice for us. We know lots of our patients are from the north of the county and we’re so grateful to the Angel Hotel for offering us their space.”
Sessions are held in an informal setting, offering a safe space to talk and connect. The best part? All sessions are free of charge, and there’s no need to book in advance. Simply drop by anytime between 10.30am and 12pm for a warm welcome.
