Retail Director (Ref: WHC-RD)
Salary: circa £39,000 pa
Location: Somerset

We seek an outstanding individual for this new role.

You will be a charismatic and inspiring leader to the retail division of Weston Hospicecare, developing a retail strategy which underpins the vision for the Hospice and provides a significant and stable income stream.

As a member of the Senior Management Team you will need to work at both a strategic and operational business level with proven commercial experience in retail, maximising resources and profit. You will evaluate and develop new income streams and experience of financial planning is essential. You will need to share and promote a clear vision and strategy to others and therefore excellent communications skills are paramount.

Weston Hospicecare, which is located on the North Somerset coast, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. We are the major provider of specialist palliative care in North Somerset, offering in-patient, community and day care services. All of this is provided free of charge and it costs nearly £3 million every year to keep the Hospice doors open, of which only 19% is funded by the NHS. The rest is raised each year through the generosity of the local community, fundraising events, partnerships with local companies, the hospice lottery and via our retail division.

The retail division employs approximately 50 staff and is supported by approximately 500 volunteers. Our shops are a vital part of our income and we currently have 18 shops and an Online Trading store, who are supported by our Logistics Hub/Warehouse. Earlier in 2015 we set up a House Clearance service to complement our shops.
