Role of arts in social care – a call for evidence

Categories: Care.

Skills for Care, Skills for Care and Development and Creative & Cultural Skills have partnered to deliver research into the role that arts play in delivering adult social care practice, and to make recommendations for workforce development.

The key research questions include:

  • is there evidence that using arts to deliver social care works?
  • are there different models of delivery?
  • what is the role of arts organisations and practicioners in supporting the use of arts in the delivery of social care?
  • how much does it cost?

As part of this research, Consilium Research, the company conducting the research, are asking organisations to help provide evidence of activities relating to the use of arts in the delivery of social care. The researchers are particularly interested in information that focuses on adult social care, including:

  • reports
  • project evaluations
  • research papers
  • any other information.

The report will be completed by the end of March 2013. For further detail regarding this study or to contribute to the evidence base please contact Andy Parkinson by email, or by telephone on 07713 357386. More information about the project can be found on the Skills for Care website.
