The scholarships are targeted at UK-based healthcare professionals with an interest in conducting research in either dementia or stroke for the MSc in Palliative Care at King’s College London.
Eligible applicants can attend the course on either a part-time or full-time basis, starting in either 2016 or 2017. There will be one dementia and one stroke scholarship available for both January 2016 entry and January 2017 entry; all four scholarships will fund course tuition fees.
The Cicely Saunders Institute has underlined its committed to opening doors for gifted and talented students, with these scholarships targeted at students who for financial reasons would otherwise be unable to attend.
The MSc Palliative Care has made a global impact on the volume of high quality research used to inform clinical care and palliative care policy. The MSc has a total 741 outputs from its alumni so far, which includes research in scientific journals and academic textbooks such as the British Medical Journal and the Oxford Textbook of Palliative Medicine.
The scholarships offered will allow students to gain essential qualifications, skills and experience that can be applied to local healthcare settings and will support the publication of their work.
