Senior Social Worker

Grade: AFC 6 £25,783 – £34,530

Wakefield Hospice are seeking a senior social worker to join our specialist palliative care team. The post holder will be responsible for addressing complex patient and family needs and will lead on issues that arise relating to the Mental Health Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty and Safeguarding. This role also supports the Hospice Service Users by involving them in relevant forums.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification and substantial experience in Social Work, will have worked in a healthcare environment, preferably have a familiarity with palliative care as well as additional therapeutic training. You will be confident in working with emotional and relational complexity and risk in a multi-disciplinary context. You will lead creatively in guiding other professionals in the assessment, planning and provision social care in a specialist palliative care environment. A practice educator qualification would be an advantage.
