Bank Social Workers
Location: Esher, Surrey
Salary: £27,617 – £32,952 per annum full time, Equivalent to AfC Band 6 or Band 7, depending on qualifications and experience (includes 5% fringe London Weighting)
Hours: Social Worker Children and Young People: 37.5 hours, including evening and weekend working
Bank Social Workers: variable hours as needed
Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, south West London and Middlesex. Our superb Hospice building gives home to our Day Services and a purpose-built In Patient Unit with the capacity to care for 24 highly complex patients at any one time, offering those who need to stay with us a private, en-suite room with large doors that open out onto our garden, courtyard or decking area.
About the roles:
We are looking for Social Workers to join our specialist palliative care social work team, working within a strong multi-professional organisation that is committed to providing holistic care. Knowledge and understanding of end of life care, pre and post bereavement support, safeguarding procedures and multi-disciplinary working are essential for these roles.
For the Social Worker for Children and Young People post we are seeking someone who has substantial experience of working supportively with children and young people experiencing loss and a sound knowledge of child protection.
For both roles you will also need well developed communication, counselling and advocacy skills and be able to develop effective working relationships with other health and social care professionals in the area.
