Specialist Palliative Care Senior Social Worker

Salary: Band 7 £36,916 – £46,837 (pro rata) per annum inclusive
Hours of work: 22.5 (3 days) per week

St. Joseph’s Hospice is a health care charity established in 1905 by the Religious Sisters of Charity and is today one of the largest and best-known hospices in the country. It provides high quality palliative and end of life care to a significant and growing number of people living with a life limiting illness in East London and beyond. It employs a large multi-disciplinary team of staff, who work across community, inpatient and outpatient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers.

This is an exciting time of change for psycho-social care at St Joseph’s Hospice and we are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, innovative, and HCPC registered social worker with post qualifying experience in a healthcare setting and a grounding in statutory work.

You will need to have excellent communication, organisational and social work assessment skills, and be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the social, psychological and spiritual needs of individuals and families facing advanced disease, death and bereavement.
