St Barnabas Hospice is deeply saddened to confirm that its Wragby Road charity shop in Lincoln has been broken into overnight (27th May). The shop remains temporarily closed while police conduct forensic investigations and the premises are secured.
Early assessments suggest that significant damage has been caused, and stock has been taken. The loss of trading, alongside visible damage, is expected to have a notable financial impact on the charity.
This incident appears to be part of a wider spate of break-ins across the local area. St Barnabas Hospice urges anyone with information to contact Lincolnshire Police, quoting incident number 26 – 27/05/25.

Caroline Peach, Head of Retail, explains:
“This is a distressing time for us,”. “We are already facing a challenging financial situation, which we’ve shared openly across our social media and in the media. Every donated item, every sale, and every act of support helps us provide compassionate end-of-life care across Lincolnshire. Incidents like this make that mission even harder.”
Despite this setback, the team at St Barnabas remains committed to their mission and is calling on the public for support during this difficult time. You can help by:
- Making a donation online
- Donating quality goods to any of our other shop
- Sharing our message to raise awareness
Now more than ever, community support is vital. With your help, we can recover from this incident and continue delivering essential hospice care to those who need it most.
