Dear friend, We have some exciting opportunities for our community to help us shape the future of St Oswald’s Hospice. As you are part of that community, I wanted to share the news with you directly and explain how you can get involved.
Firstly, as we begin to plan our new strategy, we have the chance for you to share your vision for the future of St Oswald’s Hospice by participating in our short survey. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas on what the future should and could be for St Oswald’s Hospice.
If you enjoy supporting us by sharing your opinions, we also have a brand new Consultation Network forming this year to gather ideas on an ongoing basis. The pilot starts now until October 2023 – and with your support we will identify what works ahead of the Consultation Network’s official launch in early 2024.
As we are supported by the community, for the community, your thoughts and opinions are incredibly valuable to us. So, if you would like to join in and be part of our development plans please read on and find out how to get involved below.

Share your vision for the future of St Oswald’s Hospice with us.
Our Board of Trustees have started work on developing a new strategy which will cover a period of three years (2023-2026).
The aim of this strategy is to help us to deliver the very best care for our patients and families, while also managing our financial position and ensuring a seamless transition from the current Vision 2025 strategy, which was launched in 2015.
We’d love to hear from you about your ideas and thoughts on what St Oswald’s Hospice future should and could be for our community.
We would really appreciate if you could take five minutes out of your day to fill out the survey below to help us develop our new strategy.

We’re setting up a Consultation Network as part of our commitment to stakeholder engagement and involvement. We want to be as inclusive as we can – so we want to hear from as wide a range of people as possible. This includes YOU – our wonderful supporters.
This pilot project will start in April 2023 and end in October 2023. The hope is that it will grow over time and during the pilot we’ll work out with our group what works and what doesn’t, before we launch the Consultation Network officially in early 2024.
What will you do as part of the Consultation Network?
It’ll be really easy to join in. All we’ll need you to do is send us an email to feedback@stoswaldsuk.org to say you’re interested. Then once a month we’ll send you an email asking you a question, or two on a specific topic – that is it.
So not hours of your time, just minutes, once a month.
And you can choose what you get involved in – from everything or nothing, or just things that interest you like patient care, or fundraising, or research for example. The topics we’ll ask you about will include all aspects of Hospice life so hopefully there’s something for everyone. It’ll be completely up to you however whether you want to answer or not.
St Oswald’s Hospice is supported by the community, for the community. That’s why we want you and our wider community to have your say on aspects of Hospice life. We want people to be our partners in really making sure we do provide ‘Quality time for everyone’ like our tagline says.
