This October, more than 100 hospices will be joining forces to help raise the profile of hospice care across the UK.
The theme of the fourth annual Hospice Care Week, taking place from 6 to 12 October, is ‘Hospice care, everywhere!’ – the idea behind the theme is to highlight how hospice care can help change lives in different settings.
The focus of the week will be on raising awareness of how hospice teams work in a wide range of settings outside hospice buildings, and sharing how the vast majority of hospice care is provided in people’s homes. The week will also raise awareness of the important role hospices play in supporting and educating staff and volunteers working in other settings, including care homes and hospitals.
During Hospice Care Week, hospices across the UK will be sharing the innovative and surprising ways that they give invaluable care to those facing end of life, and their families. Hospice Care Week provides the perfect opportunity to do this with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day taking place on Saturday 11 October.
