Salary: Band 8A £45,518 – £53,367per annum inclusive pro rata

Hours: 30 hours per week

St Joseph’s Hospice, an international centre of excellence for palliative care delivering comprehensive care to patients with serious, progressive, and life limiting illnesses across East London. 

Working in partnership with Tower Hamlet Community Education Provider Network and Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group to expand the quantity and quality of education available for the health and care workforce to address the needs of the local population in Tower Hamlets are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a professional with significant experience in palliative care to lead the development, delivery and engagement of Tower Hamlets Integrated Care staff in a programme of palliative and end of life care education to support those in the last years of life.

This is a unique role for a dynamic, motivated individual to greatly influence the quality of care of people living with advanced illness or old age, and to make a real difference to the end of life experience of patients and families through: 

  • Championing the importance of quality palliative and end of life care across Tower Hamlets health and care services through a comprehensive education and training strategy, to ensure proactive planning, comprehensive support and timely access to services
  • Building effective working relationships with service leads, health and care professionals across Tower Hamlets to proactively engage frontline staff in a flexible programme of education, tailored to staffs’ needs to ensure training transforms care of patients and families 

The role will be employed by St Joseph’s Hospice Education and Learning Team to benefit from the support and integration with wider palliative care education initiatives across North East London.
