There are two weeks remaining to nominate candidates for the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards, which recognise innovation and excellence in the not-for-profit care and support sector.
The awards celebrate the people working behind the scenes who have made a positive impact on people’s lives. They recognise achievements across all ages from birth to end of life care and in any setting, whether a registered care provider or community group.
Applicants can enter themselves, their team, or anyone they believe deserves recognition for their role, in categories such as End of Life Care, Citizenship, and Making a Difference.
Last year’s winners included Caroline Betts, Matron at St Raphael’s Hospice in Sutton who received the Leadership Award, Anne Fowlie, Vice Chair of Trustees at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield who was jointly awarded the Beyond Governance Award with Melba Wilson OBE at Advance Housing and Support Ltd, and the Chaplaincy Team at Methodist Homes for the Aged (MHA), who received the End of Life Care Award.
Among this year’s judging panel are Hilary Garratt, Director of Nursing in NHS England and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for England, and Claire Henry MBE, Director of Transformation at Hospice UK.
Nominations close on September 7 and the awards ceremony will be held on December 7 at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
