‘Understanding personal health budgets’ contains answers to frequently asked questions, personal stories from people who have personal budgets and details of further sources of information, such as NHS Choices.
The leaflet is aimed at helping healthcare professionals, commissioners and support organisations to introduce the idea of a personal health budget to people being offered one.
People who are already receiving NHS Continuing Care will have a right to ask for a personal health budgets from April 2014. Clinical commissioning groups will also be able to offer personal health budgets to others that they feel may benefit from the additional flexibility and control.
