Welcome to Hospice Care Week 2013: Have you taken the “Count me in!” pledge?

Categories: Community Engagement.

This year’s Hospice Care Week will focus on the growing need for hospice care and events will take place across the UK from the 7-13 October 2013.

The theme highlights findings by the Commission into the Future of Hospice Care, which show that demand and need for hospice care will rise rapidly in the coming years, as previously reported on ehospice.

David Praill, CEO of Help the Hospices, welcomes the public to Hospice Care Week in a short video on the Help the Hospices YouTube channel; he has both personal and professional reasons for supporting hospice care.

On ehospice, we will be focusing on one key message from Hospice Care Week each day, starting with the ‘Count me in!’ pledge, which aims to spread the message about hospice care.

The Pledge

Help the Hospices is encouraging hospice supporters to take a ‘Count me in!’ pledge, fulfilling their promise by telling five new people about why hospice care counts.

The charity says: “Let’s speak out about the amazing care hospices give so that hospice care is there for future generations.”

And to spread the message further, supporters are encouraged to use social media sites.

Tweet @HelptheHospices with your pledge and use the hash tag #HospiceCareWeek, or post your picture of your pledge on the Help the Hospices Facebook page, or upload the image to the Hospice Care Week pledge gallery.

David Praill has taken the pledge and is asking the public to join him.
