In an abundance of caution, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization has decided not to hold the Leadership and Advocacy Conference and associated events scheduled for March 23 – 27, 2020 at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Convention Center and the MGM Hotel.
While the LAC is a highlight of the year for our members and providers – and loved by our staff – we know that you must give your full attention to those that you care for and your broader community during this public health crisis.
NHPCO would like to share plans that are being put into place to make up for LAC20:
- NHPCO COVID-19 EXECUTIVE DIALOGUE – NHPCO is committed to helping our members respond effectively to patient and community concerns. To support our membership, and those who were planning to join us at LAC20, NHPCO is offering a complimentary webinar on March 25 to address the current public health crisis. The webinar will include emergency preparedness information, a review of the latest CDC recommendations and a conversation with your colleagues in the field with moderate to severe caseloads. Those registered for the LAC20 will receive more information on this COVID-19 Executive Dialogue with specific times and access information. NHPCO will also reach out to members who are not registered for LAC20 to share information about this important offering.
- ADVOCACY EVENT GOES VIRTUAL – We still plan to hold a Virtual Advocacy Day, with training sessions available remotely on Monday, March 23 and our Legislative Action Center open for business the entire week of March 23-27 with scripts for phone calls, email messages, letters to the editor, and social media posts. This Virtual Advocacy Day will be open to all NHPCO members, so please plan on having your whole team participate. We will be updating the Hospice Action Network website with details on participating in Virtual Advocacy Day as we finalize our plans.
- NHF GALA – we are looking at rescheduling the National Hospice Foundation Gala later in 2020. We will have more information available in the not too distant future.
While this conference will not be held, registration is open for the 2020 Virtual Conference, July 22 – 23, hosted by NHPCO, AAHPM and HPNA. The focus is on Quality. Learn more about the 2020 Virtual Conference – the professional education event that comes to you.
