We Honor Veterans has created the WHV Advocacy Toolkit for organizations that are We Honor Veterans partners. Developed in collaboration with the Hospice Action Network, the toolkit will help providers become skilled hospice advocates working on behalf of end-of-life care and our US veterans in need of hospice care.

It’s free for an organization to become a We Honor Veterans partner (visit the WeHonorVeterans.org for full information). As an engaged WHV partner, providers have the opportunity to engage Members of Congress, state, and local officials with a unique story. All elected officials are concerned about the welfare of our nation’s veterans, and the We Honor Veterans program can be an effective way to involve Members of Congress in discussions about veteran-centric hospice care.
By recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families, hospice and palliative care organizations – and other community providers – can learn how to accompany and guide these heroes toward a more peaceful ending.
We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, invites hospice and palliative care providers, state hospice organizations, Hospice-Veteran Partnerships and VA facilities to join this pioneering program focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment.
