Brooks-LaSure to Lead Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization congratulates Chiquita Brooks-LaSure on her historic confirmation today as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator. Brooks-LaSure is the first Black woman to lead CMS.
Brooks-LaSure was confirmed by a vote in the U.S. Senate on May 25, 2021.
“CMS plays a critical role to our nation’s hospice and palliative care provider community, and we are pleased to welcome Chiquita Brooks-LaSure as the new Administrator and applaud her confirmation today,” said NHPCO President and CEO Edo Banach. “She understands the inner workings of government and has a deep appreciation for health advocacy.
