Categories: Care.

While overuse and misuse of prescription drugs is a serious problem, a great deal of human pain and suffering remains inadequately treated.

Webinar 1 will provide an overview of the benefits and limitations of urine testing in patients with chronic pain. It is intended to provide physicians with the knowledge that will help them incorporate urine drug testing into their practice as a tool to monitor patient safety and medication adherence.

  • To be held on 25 June 2013 at 1pm EDT

Webinar 2 will be an exploration of a multidimensional clinical approach to the treatment of chronic pain, as well as co-occurring mental health and substance disorders, which can be implemented in both primary care and specialty practices. The course will outline evidence-based options for patient engagement in chronic pain treatment and tips on identifying clinical and support resources in community based settings. The appropriate role of opioid analgesics in the context of active pain recovery will also be reviewed.
