Change is inevitable and unpredictable and one of the most important skills for effective managers to have. NHPCO’s Hospice Manager Development Program offers a number of instructor-led, online courses that are open to everyone. Managing the Changing Organization starting September 21, 2020, is a four week module that will help develop leadership strategies for implementing change and learn to manage change to ensure positive outcomes.

Through this online module, you will be provided a new perspective on change within organizations. You will understand why and when change happens, learn how change affects people, develop leadership strategies for implementing change and learn to manage change to ensure positive outcomes. If you are like most people, change is hard for you. Managing change and the strong reactions to it is even more difficult.

This module will teach specific skills and strategies you can use in your role as a manager; you will no longer fear change because you will understand it, know how lead people through it and even to thrive after it! This online course also offers an opportunity to become part of the ongoing learning community that has been created through the Hospice MDP.

Module Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define change, identifying its core components;
  • Identify specific approaches to organizational change and apply them to one’s own organization;
  • Describe human needs with respect to change and identify specific strategies for addressing them;
  • List characteristics of effective change initiatives and practice apply them to one’s own organization.
