For individuals who are not able to be a part of the annual HAN Advocacy Intensive this summer, Virtual Hill Week, July 17- 21, makes is easy for supporters across the country to lend their voice to advocacy efforts on behalf of hospice and palliative care.
This is a simple action you can take from the comfort of your home, or office, or car, or wherever you are. This action takes little time for you, but is a huge help in educating Congress about the importance of hospice and palliative care to the American people. If we don’t tell them that it matters to us, they will assume it does not matter.
First, review the suggested script from Hospice Action Network, and then log into the HAN Call Module to make your calls to Congress.
Then, please share these resources with your friends to help make Virtual Hill Week 2017 a grand success.
“The HAN Advocacy Intensive, going strong since 2012, has brought more than 1,300 hospice advocates to Washington, D.C.” said NHPCO President and CEO Edo Banach. “Through Virtual Hill Week, even more advocates can take steps to represent the people we care for and to advocate on their behalf.”
Finally, HAN offers several resources to help you continue to advocate at home. Check out the HAN video collection to learn how to be an effective advocate without ever having to leave your state.
If you run into a roadblock or need further support, don’t be afraid to contact the HAN team by e-mail at info@nhpcohan.org.
