Catering manager

St Teresa’s Hospice, Darlington is seeking an experienced catering professional to join our team in the new role of catering manager.

St Teresa’s Hospice is a forward thinking, inclusive registered charity. Our catering function currently covers our inpatient unit, day therapy unit, meetings and events, and will soon include a small bistro cafeteria business. 

The catering manager will supervise the catering and housekeeping functions, assisted by the housekeeping team leader, and will ensure the provision of 5-star standard nutrition for our patients. As catering manager, you’ll have the opportunity to be instrumental in the setting up and management of our new bistro cafeteria business.

The ideal catering manager will: 

• hold a level 3 or equivalent qualification in catering
• have an intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
• have experience of leading a team
• have good knowledge of cleaning standards
• be able to work flexibly (including some evenings and weekends) 

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by St Teresa’s Hospice. All posts are subject to a six month probationary period.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week initially, with possible scope to increase hours in the future.

Salary: St Teresa’s Hospice Band 4.
