Learning from new evidence in Eastern Africa

Commenting on a longer article published in the November/December edition of the European Journal of Palliative Care, Mr Powell examines the importance of challenging established wisdoms and practices through experiential learning in the palliative care setting.

He calls for palliative care researchers in Africa to do three things:

  • Design studies to demonstrate the potentially beneficial impact of services
  • Engage with policy makers
  • Build partnerships to sustain the research agenda.
