Inspired by her experience with her father in palliative care, Ramza Saruna and her family have donated eight iPads and funding for wireless internet. Funding was also provided by local charity, Transition to Betterness. While data has not yet been collected to evaluate the impact video chat can have on a patient, the results of the pilot project so far have been excellent. As Windsor hospice executive director Carol Derbyshire explains, “all you have to do is see their face when they see their family.”
