The program also provides education opportunities for students in health care professional schools such as nursing, pharmacy, social work, rehab sciences, and chaplaincy. The Division also supports continuing education by offering courses, events and forums for professionals in the field of Palliative Care. These academic opportunities are made possible through scholarships, research, and valuable partnerships with health care agencies. Overall, the Division seeks to appropriately design curricula to support Palliative Care leaders and collaborate with other national and provincial palliative care initiatives. Research on clinical, health services and education issues done by the Division’s faculty members and fellows also contributes to the Division’s goal of furthering the field of palliative care. This research has been presented at conferences and published in peer reviewed journals. The Division describes the palliative care field as exciting, rewarding, enriching and filled with opportunities for collaborative work.
