IAPCON 2024: Abstract submissions open till 30 November, 2023

Preparations for the 31st Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 2024) are taking place under the able guidance of Dr Geeta Joshi (Organising Chair), Dr Priti Sanghavi (Organising Secretary), Dr Bhavna Patel (Scientific Committee Chair) and Dr Dinesh Kumar (Workshop Committee Chair).

Conference organisers invite researchers to submit abstracts of their work in palliative care for presentation to the global palliative care fraternity before Thursday, 30th November, 2023.

 

Attractive prizes have also been announced in this regard.

1. The IAPC has announced the IAPC’s Award for the 3 best poster presentations and 3 best oral presentations. Each awardee will receive a cash prize and a certificate. The cash prize for the 1st place is INR 25,000/; for the 2nd place is Rs INR 15,000/-; and for the 3rd place is INR 10,000/-.

 

2. The conference organisers have announced the ‘Dr M T Bhatia Award for best poster presentation for Nurses’. Qualified nurses (GNM, BSc, MSc) who are working in Palliative Care settings and who are life members of the IAPC will be eligible to receive the award, provided they present the best original research work (via a poster presentation) for palliative care during IAPCON 2024. The winner of this award will be presented with a memento, a certificate, and a cash award.

 

 All winners will receive their awards during the valedictory function of the conference, at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

IAPCON 2024 is themed ‘Revisiting the domains of Palliative Care’, as it aims to enhance the delegates’ practise of palliative care by empowering them with the various aspects in Palliative Care for both cancer and non-cancer patients. Scientific Sessions therefore will include sessions on Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Nephrology, Geriatric Care etc. Sessions will also include the nursing care plans, role of psychologist, volunteers, NGOs in providing palliative care, along with presentations on research methodology and cientific paper presentations.

The 2.5 day in-person conference will be held at the Auditorium, Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, between Friday, 9th February, 2024, and Sunday, 11th February, 2024. The Pre-conference workshops are slated for Thursday, 8th February, 2024.
