Four fellowships, in total worth €10,000, have been awarded to Dr Noleen McCorry, Mary Ferns, Dr Sinead Hutcheson and Aisling Kearney.
These fellowships have been launched to help develop leadership skills, capacity and knowledge of those working in the palliative care communities in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
For example, Noleen McCorry, a research facilitator at Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast, hopes to pursue a site visit to a leading provincial cancer organisation in Canada. She hopes to gather information about the processes and methods used by leading international institutions to provide research evidence in education and practice.
The AIIHPC head of education, Dr Michael Connolly, said: “Our four successful applicants now have the opportunity to expand not only their own knowledge and experience, but also those of their colleagues and the wider palliative care community. AIIHPC will ensure learning from these opportunities is collated for sharing. We wish them well.”
More information can be found on the AIIHPC website.
