Associate Professor Edward Poon from Singapore will present on the topic: ‘Management of Cancer Wounds’.
Prof Poon is a recognised clinical leader, educator and researcher in palliative care nursing in Singapore. He has 17 years of experience working in the field of palliative care.
He has helped to set up palliative care teams, started the caregiver training centre, as well as programmes to teach and support the caregiver.
He has presented numerous research articles at local and international conferences. He was also awarded the prestigious President Nurses Award and the Healthcare Humanity award for his contribution to the field.
Currently, he chairs the Palliative Care Nurses Chapter, which supports palliative care nursing research, education, practice and administration at a national level in Singapore.
Besides being an advocate for palliative care, he also conducts education courses in palliative care. He is currently the Chief Nurse at Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, where he set up the palliative care team and the transitional home care team.
