The webinar, entitled: ‘Pain Among HIV Outpatients Attending HIV Care and Support Facilities in Two East African Countries,’ was hosted by the University of North Carolina.
Dr Harding-Swale presented data from a mixed-method study, part of the large Public Health Evaluation for Care & Support in East Africa, which measured pain among 1338 HIV outpatients and collected data on drug availability and the experience of pain.
The study drew on a unique data set and used self-reported validated measures of care and support and well-being.
Throughout the presentation, Dr Harding-Swale invited attendees to keep in mind the question: ‘What do you see as the possibilities for USAID to drive forward the reduction of suffering?’
The webinar is available to download from the University of North Carolina website.
