Our guest speaker is Toby Porter, Chief Executive of Hospice UK—the national organisation uniting hospices and palliative care services across the United Kingdom. Toby has over 25 years of experience in healthcare and humanitarian leadership. He previously led Acorns Children’s Hospice and HelpAge International and has collaborated with organisations in the UK, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
During the session, Toby will describe how the UK’s national hospice network was established and expanded, the challenges his colleagues faced, and the practical steps that helped create a cohesive ‘umbrella’ organisation linking various institutions. This is the first session in the series, which will continue in early 2026.
We especially invite leaders, coordinators, NGO representatives, and members of professional associations dedicated to advancing palliative care in their regions.
