Survey of palliative care developments in the Asia-Pacific region

Categories: Research.

Twelve of the 14 member countries/regions of the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN) responded to the questionnaire sent out, which asked about palliative care service provision, physician certification in palliative care, the availability of essential drugs and the regulation of opioid-prescribing practice.

The data gathered highlighted how the development of palliative care is in different stages across the Asia-Pacific region.

The authors of the paper say that the data gathered will be used as baseline data for monitoring the development of palliative care in this region.
