The WHPCA has Launched a Fundraising Campaign to Support World Hospice & Palliative Care Day

Categories: Featured and Fundraising.

The Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA) has launched an online fundraising campaign for World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD). WHPCD is now less than two months away. We urge you all to plan to carry out an event and register it on the World Day map. Leading up to World Day WHPCA is launching this special fundraising campaign to support World Day. WHPCA does all the organising, theme planning, Toolkit development, design, web management, and a lot of other work that is not funded. We have tried hard to get a sponsor for World Day (let us know if you know of anyone who might be interested) without success, so we are relying on you the global palliative care community to help keep World Day going by making an easy donation to the campaign.

World Day occurs once every year on the second Saturday of October. This year it will be on 14 October and the theme is Compassionate Communities: Together for Palliative Care! We need your support to keep WHPCD going every year and we are asking you to donate what you can. At least 60 million people need palliative care every year and only 12% of this need is met in low and middle-income countries.  We have worked with the limited resources we have to keep WHPCD campaign going for the last 19 years. We need all the help we can get to close the access abyss to palliative care. All donations will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to support the World Day campaign for another year. Find more information about how you can support WHPCD and please share the campaign link with all your networks and World Day event organisers and go online and give whatever you can.
