As reported previously on ehospice, Human Rights Watch launched the online campaign to source funding for a multimedia project to demonstrate the difficulties terminally ill patients face in accessing palliative care in Mexico.
Videos are a powerful way to demonstrate need and open channels of communication between people from different ends of society’s power spectrum.
Carroll Bogert, Deputy Executive Director of External Relations at Human Rights Watch explains: “When you can show (policymakers) the video, they are really seeing the experience of others for the first time. Video is an extremely powerful way of conveying to people what the human cost is of lack of pain medication.”
The project will only be funded if at least $25,000 is pledged by 3pm BST on Saturday 31 May 2014. Find out more and pledge on the Kickstarter website.
