Categories: Care.

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day will take place on Saturday, 8 October 2016. It is a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world.

Theme and key messages

This year’s theme is: ‘Living and dying in pain: It doesn’t have to happen’. It tackles the critical issue of access to essential medicines for pain management and palliative care worldwide. It resonates with the advocacy work around the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem, and ongoing work on improving access to these controlled medications.

You can access the Key Messages for World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day website.
