For the second year in a row, Stepping Stone Hospice will host a tree-lighting ceremony to honour those who are no longer with us.
It’s a ceremony that can be seen as a beacon of hope, strength and a celebration of life and will be hosted at Reading Country Club in New Redruth, Alberton on November 28.
Not only is it a perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic under starry skies with family and loved ones – you can now add your remembrance globe in celebration of your loved one at only R100.
Funds will go towards a good cause. It will ensure that hope, comfort and support continue to be provided for Stepping Stone Hospice patients and families on the journey of life-limiting illnesses.
In purchasing a globe, you will be offered the opportunity to write a dedicated message to your loved one which will be posted on a special tree of lights page on the Stepping Stone Hospice website. You can then view and share your dedicated messages with friends, family and colleagues on your favourite social media platform.
You are furthermore invited to attend the tree-lighting ceremony where a beautiful tree has been selected to carry messages of hope and celebration for the month of December. There will be no entrance fee to the event.
The celebrations will start at 5.30pm with entertainment and the traditional carols by candelight. Pancakes, boerierolls, popcorn and drinks will be on sale.
The actual lighting of the tree will take place at 7.45pm (weather permitting) when hundreds of globes light up with a soft radiance. The tree will shine throughout December.
The tree of light and dedications page on the website will go live as from October 25, and will only be removed on January 25.
