Barratt Redrow’s festive support for Princess Alice Hospice is go, ho, ho!

Categories: Fundraising.

Princess Alice Hospice’s Santa Fun Run signals the start of the festive fun for hundreds of local people and this year will be no different. The much-loved community event will once again be ringing in the Christmas cheer, at Bushy Park on Sunday 30 November and Sandown Racecourse on Sunday 14 December.

Each year it costs Princess Alice Hospice £12.3m to deliver its free charitable services to local people and their families facing end of life. With just 20% provided by NHS funding, the Hospice relies on its generous local community for the rest.

Alongside the cake bakes and sponsored swims, the marathons and skydives, corporate sponsorships provide a vital stream of income. Barratt Redrow is proud to be partnering with the Hospice to support Santa Fun Run and other events in their community fundraising calendar, including Christmas Tree Collections and Open Gardens.

Claire Woodward, Community, Corporate & Events Lead, said:

‘We’re so grateful for Barratt Redrow’s support, they have really taken time to understand our organisation and their commitment is genuinely heartfelt.

Events like Santa Fun Run are fun for everyone, but the money they raise allows us to continue delivering free, compassionate care to local people at Christmas and through the year.’

David Thomas, Chief Executive of Barratt Redrow, said: ‘We’re proud to support the wonderful work that goes on at Princess Alice Hospice. They are an amazing hospice delivering vital end-of-life care and they need as much support as possible. I look forward to seeing lots of Santas in Bushy Park all taking part in the fun run!’

Princess Alice Hospice: For Excellence. For Compassion. For People. For Living.

For 40 years, Princess Alice Hospice has provided free, high-quality, specialist end-of-life care to tens of thousands of people across the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond and large parts of Surrey. Today, Hospice nurses, doctors and other specialist staff are looking after over 1000 patients at any one time, in their homes or on the In-Patient Unit.

The Hospice’s vision is that everyone in our communities should have the best possible care and support before, during and after death. With care and support that is right for them, more people can live well, die well and grieve well.

Each year, it costs £12.3 million to provide our free, vital services. With just 20% of NHS funding provided, the remaining 80% is raised through legacies, fundraising, selling pre-loved items in our shops, and investments. It is the amazing support of our generous supporters and dedicated volunteers that allows our work to continue.
