Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £21,550 – £24,089 per annum
(Dependent on relevant experience and qualifications)
Hospice in the Weald (HitW) is based in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells, Kent and covers 400 square miles of West Kent and East Sussex and cares for patients with life limiting conditions such as Cancer, Heart/Kidney Failure (end stages) and Neurological conditions.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic candidate who has a passion for working with carers, to develop our support services.
You will have experience working in the statutory or voluntary sector and have a good understanding of the needs of carers supporting people with a life limiting illness. You will possess a strong commitment to deliver high quality services and value working with carers to obtain their feedback to inform service development. An ability to form excellent working relationships with external organisations is essential.
Reporting to the Head of Hospice in the Home, the role will include the development of a carer’s assessment and the provision of information, advice and support to enable carers to continue in their caring role. You will be responsible for developing a wide range of services for carers within the community which includes but is not limited to: education groups, peer support, drop in information and support days, home based support, social events for carers and their cared for.
You will be required to work closely with the Hospice in the Home Team, have proven leadership skills and be able to work autonomously yet within a multidisciplinary team, as well as possessing excellent communication skills.
A current driving licence is essential and you will be expected to work occasional weekends and Bank Holidays to meet the needs of the service.
