This course is aimed at Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Social Workers working in both primary and secondary care. It will also be suitable for nursing home staff and students of the above disciplines.
This study day provides an introduction to some tools for approaching complex ethical and legal problems at the end of life. Using different approaches including case studies (both from established cases and participants’ own clinical experiences) it will cover recent developments in the law and provide an overview of the key philosophical debates relevant to each topic so that participants gain confidence in applying a practical approach to ethical and legal dilemmas they may encounter in their future practice.
