Churchill Fellowships open for applications

Categories: Care, Education, and Featured.

The Winston Churchill Memorial Fund is inviting people who want to make a difference in their community or profession to apply for a Fellowship.

The Fellowships provide funding to individuals from all parts of society to travel the world researching a topic of their choice with the aim of finding innovative solutions for today’s most pressing problems. On their return, the Fellowship enables them to share their learning with communities across the UK.

These are not academic research grants, but rather are practical inquiries into real-world issues. They can be applied for in a number of different fields, including palliative and end of life care, healthcare, emergency response, and science, technology & engineering. Every year 150 are awarded.

Any UK adult citizen can apply, regardless of qualifications, age or background. They are chosen not for their past achievements, but for the power of their ideas and their potential to be change-makers.

The Fellowship was created in 1965 as the living legacy of Sir Winston Churchill. Since then over 5,500 grants have been awarded.

Applications are open until September 17 for travel in 2020. For more information and to apply visit Winston Churchill Memorial Trust
