27 hours per week to be worked flexibly over 4 days
Starting salary £21,692 per annum (£15,618.24 pro rata) dependent upon experience
Based in the purpose built Family Care Centre the Family Care Team provide psychological and emotional support and counselling to hospice patients, their families and friends in the pre- bereavement phase, immediately after death and on into bereavement. Counsellors work closely with the wider hospice multi-disciplinary team supporting hospice in-patients and those accessing Support & Therapy Centre services. Referrals from external agencies are also accepted.
The team is well established and is supported by a dedicated team of volunteer counsellors and administrative support volunteers in its work.
Applicants must hold a Diploma/Degree in Counselling (or be within 6 months of completion) and be willing to work towards BACP/UKCP accreditation after 12 months in the role.
Experience of working in a similar role in a health or social care setting will be beneficial.
