Help the Hospices is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the care provided by hospices in the future for people with dementia, their families and carers.
This important work, funded by the charity Hope for Home, will begin in October or November 2013. The postholder will be responsible for identifying and promoting good practice in dementia care, particularly that which is required in the last years of life, that can be adapted and replicated across the hospice sector. He/she will be working closely with Help the Hospices Practice Development Lead to develop new guidance and resources and will provide training to help hospices embrace this important development.
We envisage this to be a secondment or filled on a consultancy basis. Payment available for the fulfillment of this role would be approximately band 7. The person appointed to this role will be able to offer approximately 1 day a week over a year for this work. He/she will have experience of working with people living with dementia, their families and carers and working knowledge of related national policy, initiatives and guidance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role along with the ability to interpret data at an operational and at a strategic level.
Background information about the project, a role description and details of how to apply are available on Help the Hospices website.
