Educator in Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care

Salary Scale: Agenda for Change Band 7 £30,764-£40,558 pro rata
30 hours per week (negotiable)

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at Wakefield Hospice for a dynamic first level nurse or allied health / social care professional.

The post holder will be responsible for developing, co-ordinating and participating in a comprehensive education programme that will support Specialist Palliative Care education in the Wakefield District as well as to equip local health and social care professionals with the skills required to meet the challenges of the End of Life Care Agenda.

In addition the post holder will coordinate the Hospice mandatory in-service training programme.

This post will be integral to supporting the Wakefield Palliative and End of Life Care Education Strategy and will be responsible for seeking and securing funding or sponsorship to support education provision. 

You will:

  • Be currently registered with your relevant professional body
  • Have wide experience of working in a specialist palliative care environment
  • Be educated to degree level in palliative care or a related subject
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification
  • Be educated to or working towards a post graduate qualification in a related subject.
