The Dying Well Matters in Wales helpline number is 0300 100 2011 and calls will be answered 10am to 10pm, seven days a week.
Enquiries will be passed onto the lead palliative care nurse of the appropriate health board, who will then be responsible for following up the enquiry and offering help, advice, information and support. This could involve helping someone to access appropriate specialist palliative care services or just providing a listening ear.
Any emergency/crisis calls will be redirected to the emergency services.
The new helpline, which was launched on Wednesday by the Palliative Care Implementation Board, is a key part of the board’s work to ensure high quality end of life care for everyone in Wales.
